Biography

Abigail Clancy was born January 10, 1986, in Liverpool, England. A natural-born performer, Abbey first achieved a modicum of fame during her late teens when she created an all-girl group named Genie Queen along with her good friends Lauren Blake and Anna Ord. Although the talented trio never managed to secure a recording deal they did write and record material in L.A., London and Stockholm, and they accompanied fellow pop group Blue on tour in 2004. “Although we weren't that famous, I put in a lot of hard work and it gave me a big feel for the industry and all the hard work which is required to succeed,” Abigail says of her experience. “Having the looks and/or the talent is only half the story. The desire to achieve and succeed as well as getting a few breaks along the way completes the mixture.”

Abigail Clancy and Peter Crouch

Luckily for Abigail Clancy, she received another unexpected shot at fame the following year when English footballer Peter Crouch ambled into a restaurant where she was working as a waitress. The pair soon hit it off and, within a matter of weeks, photos of the couple were being splashed all over England’s most notorious tabloids. Abigail Clancy’s profile was raised even further during the 2006 FIFA World Cup when she was routinely spotted in the stands along with the glamorous wives and girlfriends of England’s national football team. "I got on with all of them," Abigail Clancy says of her famous companions. "I was the new girl but they were all really amazing.”

Abigail Clancy’s Dirty little habit is exposed

Unfortunately, the attention also brought added scrutiny, and reporters assigned to find out more about Abigail Clancy soon unearthed photos of the beautiful blonde snorting cocaine during her days with Genie Queen. "Those pictures were taken ages ago,” she said following the publication of the shots. “I was a teenager and I was in a band."

Although most of Britain soon forgot about the sordid episode, Crouch did not and he dropped Abigail Clancy like a load of dirty laundry. “The first I heard about the break-up was two minutes before I was due to go on Richard & Judy,” she recalls. “One of the producers came over and told me they’d received a statement from Peter and that I could not say we were together. I had no idea about it because, as far as I was concerned, we were fine. I was like, ‘Where’s this coming from?’” The pair eventually got back together, but not before much time apart.

Abigail Clancy on Britain’s next Top Model

Down but certainly not out, Abigail Clancy continued her pursuit of fame later that year as a contestant on the reality series Britain’s Next Top Model. The popular program brought her into contact with world-class photographers and fashion icons like Lisa Snowdon, Paula Hamilton and Jerry Hall, and Abigail finished in second place behind Lianna Fowler. “Obviously I'm slightly disappointed, but am really happy for Lianna,” she said at the time. “I've worked with such fantastic photographers/stylists and fashion veterans, so the experience has been invaluable.”

Abigail Clancy the Model

The show proved to be an excellent springboard into the world of modeling, and Abigail Clancy soon increased her exposure with sizzling spreads in magazines such as Maxim, FHM, Nuts, OK!, GQ, Sugar, and Arena as well as in newspapers like The Sun, The Daily Star and The Daily Mail.

Abigail Clancy on Hell’s Kitchen and Abbey and Janice

Abigail Clancy returned to reality television twice in 2007, first on a celebrity version of Hell’s Kitchen and secondly on Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best. The lighthearted and highly amusing series followed her attempt to make a splash on the L.A. modeling scene with the help of supermodel Janice Dickinson.

Abigail Clancy is also the face of EuroMillions, a huge pan-European lottery, and her sizzling hot 2008 calendar appeared in stores shortly after.
